Social Classes in Anchient India
The Anchient Indian socal classes were a very important part to Indian lifestyle. The were called the varnas. The varnas where the poarts of the caste system. The varnas were made up of six different classes. They were in order of respect: preists/acedemics, warriors/kings, merchants/landowners, peasnts/servants, and untouchables, which were people with jobs like street sweepers, or latrine cleaners. These classes were divided into subclasses called jatis. The Hindus believed that the first three classes would live twice, and upon death, would be reborn as another person, with no recolection of your past life. This did not apply to the servant and untouchable classes.
